My computer crashed and i needed to reformat and reinstall the operating system. How do i get back my old emails, address book, etc.? It is an HP computer that created a backup file before reformatting, but there is no information in the Profile folder; i assume it was saved on the server.

What server would that be? If you used IMAP then the messages should still be on your providers server. If you used POP your messages would have been on your local drive along with your address book.
