When I open T'bird for the first time each day, it displays any new messages immediately but I can't open them because of what's going on in the Status Bar. A green bar graph appears on the right, and on the left it will usually say something like "Downloading message". It can take 5 or more minutes for the Status Bar to clear and the messages in the message frame to become active and able to be opened. If I click on a message before the Status Bar clears, T'bird becomes unresponsive and I have to close and reopen it again. After this frustrating delay there's usually no extra new message after all, even though the Status Bar might have shown one being downloaded for several minutes. Can any kind soul out there please help me?
