Most Emails received show pics but AT&T @sbcglobal.net blocks them?

I use gmail and Emails with pics display fine with gmail BUT when I open mainly emails from addresses ending in @sbcglobal.net with THUNDERBIRD the pics are removed and dumped to the bottom of the Emails.

Is it that they block them or your correspondents with SBC all use the same mail product that may not be encoding the messages well. Send me one of these mails to have a look at to matt_au@gmx.com. No promises of a solution, but I will look.
