It says that cookies should be enabled, or that I should erase cache, or that there is a problem with Firefox's security settings and I should "add" Google to its list of acceptable websites. I enabled cookies, erased the cache, and am pretty sure that Google is allowed, but it's still not working. I see that many, many other people are having this same issue and I have not found a single person whose issue was resolved. This is pretty ridiculous.

can you try to "forget history for this site" (attention: this will also clear saved passwords) as explained in Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them?

one other thing to try is to check in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings... that firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy').

hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

Is that what you mean? Also, sorry to be terse and cranky. It's frustrating because I need to check my email asap as I need it for both school and work (and everything outside of both). Thanks for the help.

What are the current cookie setting?

Are you allowing cookies or do you block cookies by default and only allow cookies from some domains?

In such a case you may have to allow cookies for the entire google.com top level domain.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Thank you, Philipp, forgetting the history fixed it.
