Since upgrading to FF 8.0.1, I get the above message when I attempt to access Add-ons, Extensions on my iMac, despite having a number of different extensions installed, all of which appear to be actively working. The problem does NOT appear on my Macbook Pro, also running FF 8.0.1. Both systems have OS X 10.7.1 running. I have tried restarting FF, rebooting, and, of course, clearing the cache.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

Since upgrading to FF 8 all I get is freezing and/or hanging & today FF crashed. Once again I uninstalled an AddOn "ShareThis" since I thought that might be the problem & it was. Then I found out that "ShareThis, Shareaholic & AddThis" are all not compatible with FF 8.. OK so what's left then? I did a single AddOn of StumbleUpon & whoopee now what do I do for the other sites I use ? Not interested in anything that has to do with FB since I'm not a fan I just want to have an AddOn that supports some of the social sites "I choose" to use.. What is going on with FF ?
