I've been using Thunderbird for many years, and I know I must be missing something, but I can't figure it out.

Comcast had my addies completely messed up. It's fixed now, but one of them doesn't work in Thunderbird, so I know the problem is on my end. I think it's a password problem, but I'm not sure of anything at this point. I have 5 addies that I use and only 2 show up in the "show passwords" list. One of the absent ones is the one that isn't working. My brain is so fried (thanks, Comcast), that I can't even find a way to change a password in T'bird!

Why don't all my addies show in the password list? What am I missing that will allow me to change a password?

Many thanks.

Thanks, Christ1, I've done all that (several times), but still have the problem as above. It never prompts for the password, even though I've removed the master password. And there are still 3 addies that don't even show in the list, so there is nothing to remove.

I am mystified.

Make sure your accounts have different names. Are the addresses all different? I believe Thunderbird may be (wrongly) matching an account without credentials to an existing one.

Using the Saved Password Editor extension may make it easier to troubleshoot this.

Oddly, today I am getting the prompt to enter the password. Now I can get mail from that addy. (I didn't do anything, it just started working.)

Interestingly, the "Saved Passwords" list still shows only 2 of my 5 email accounts. It doesn't seem to matter now that they're all working. Just an oddity, I suppose.

Thank you for the help and suggestions. It's much appreciated.

You'll need to check the box to remember the password when being prompted for it.
