I thought that I was on an official Mozilla/Firefox website but apparently I was not. The FF I loaded immediately disabled pop-up control. Every second there were adds popping up from all sides. As fast as I got rid of them they reappeared. It looked like the program was taking over my computer. I ran my security scan and it did not find anything malicious on my computer. So I went back to IE which I hate and I have this bad version stuck on my computer. It will not delete in the control panel (which you probably already know!) So how do I scrub it away?

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

You can download Firefox here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Or if you need a different localized version: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

FredMcD, the OP mentioned that he cannot uninstall it in control panel and the link you posted was already mentioned by CoryMH over six hours ago.

Here is something you can try. Start the Computer in safe mode. Using a file browser, remove the bad directory. Then run the programs listed above to find anything left behind.
