After updating to 33.0, I can no longer log into Google Mail, Google Plus, or Yahoo Mail. I receive an error "this connection is untrusted".
I have cleared the cache, reset cookies, etc. Nothing has worked. I can access these sites in Google Chrome but historically have used Firefox as my default browser. Should I switch to Google Chrome or is there a software fix?

hello, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a possible solution depends on different factors:
- what is the error code shown under technical details on the error page?
in case the error code equals sec_error_unknown_issuer, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page & inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):
- which issuer information does the certificate contain?
thank you!
"This Connection is Untrusted" error message appears - What to do
I only have the option to view technical details. Add exceptions is NOT on my screen. On occasion, I will get the option to "add exceptions" and I would do so. However, that, too, did not resolve the problem for all three examples.
If you can find a web page that has the "I Understand the Risks" section then please check you is the issuer of the certificate like posted above and possibly attach a screenshot showing the issuer.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
- Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
- Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate"
- Click the "View" button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer (Issued by).
You can see more details like the intermediate certificates that are used in the Details tab.
As you can see in the attachment, I do not see the "I understand the risks" option. I am stopped dead in my tracks. I have reset Firefox, disabled add-ons, but nothing works other than switching to another browser.
The date, time and time zone are all correct on my PC. This problem existed in the most recent version of Firefox ESR as well. I switched to the most recent version of standard FF and that didn't help. I'm not sure when this problem started, but I used to be able to get to gmail through Firefox.
I have made no other changes to my PC that I can think of. I'm running up-to-date Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Thanks for any help.

Is there any info in the Technical Details section?
Yes, a little. Please see the screenshot attachment. Thanks
