Chosen solution

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer). Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing.
Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies, do the following:

  1. Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section Privacy & Security and select Clear private data.
  4. You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    • Cookies & active logins
    • Cache
  5. After those have been selected, tap the Clear data button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off hardware acceleration and some other settings and disables extensions and themes.

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  1. Make sure Firefox is completely closed.
  2. (On Windows) Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  3. When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause. The first step would be to turn off hardware acceleration in Firefox Advanced options.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use.

Let us know if this helps.

I think setting the color scheme to "basic" may have fixed the problem but at the same time a windows update installed and after wards it started working properly it is likely the windows update had nothing to do with it.
