I did a fresh install of yosemite on my mac mini and on my macbook pro. I installed the latest firefox 33 and I did sign into sync, but nothing is syncing. I had quite a bit of bookmarks and tags saved in sync which was working great between my macbook pro and mac mini just yesterday. How do I get my data back? I thought it was all being stored on a mozilla server? I have the firefox recovery key from when I originally set this up...

johnkelly3 potentially. The way to tell is if you visit accounts.firefox.com and see if you are asked to login. If so, then you are on the old sync account servers.

HI johnkelly3, Thank you for referring to the original question. I understand that there is an issue with syncing items in a profile that was part of a Yosemite update. The os update should not remove profile data. Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

Firefox Sync is not meant to be a backup. However if you attach the previous account to the new install the two devices should merge. Before attempting this, please make a backup of the profile locally.

I ended up going removing FF33 and installing FF24. I was able to sign back into synch and have all my data restored to my FF24. I then upgraded FF24 to FF33. I did this on both of my Mac's. Not sure which Synch I am using now, I guess the older one still?
