Stopped Using Firefox..very slow connecting since 3/5/15 update.
Connection speed to common sites such as U-tube has at least a 45-second delay opening the website, then there is more buffering to open the U-tube feature. Believed to have started since a 3/5/15 update. I am aware that Firefox has stopped using Google as it's default search engine in favor of Yahoo. I have been using Google as the Firefox search engine for years. Tried the Yahoo search engine and its even slower. I am now using Google Chrome and it is EXTREMELY FAST, so I don't think there's anything wrong with my Win7 Professional operating system. Initiated a Firefox Refresh from the Mozilla website, but no help with the Firefox 36.0.1. Will keep trying Firefox from time-to-time, but right now, Google Chrome is my default search engine. Bernie.

If you'd like to try giving Firefox another go, there are a few things we can do that will speed it up:
- Scan for malware. Some malware targets specific browsers or websites and can cause issues. Scanning for malware and deleting it will help improve your security and performance. Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
- Update your graphics driver. Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
- Update your plugins. https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/
- Make sure Windows is up to date.
- Try the steps listed in Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down
I hope these help! Also, if you want to use Google as your search engine in Firefox instead of Yahoo, it's easy to switch. Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox
