Upgraded my email when I refigured server settings I lost all saved emails?

I had to upgrade my email for my domain this gave me different server settings so I could access emails from various devices. I changed these settings on Thunderbird by deletting the old and inputting the new. I lost all my saved emails etc nightmare?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_deleted_mail_accounts the cure is basically the same for changing the name as deleting.

Perhaps next time you will add the new server account instead of changing the server name
