You can try to update your old Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183 plugin.

You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:

Also make sure that the HTML5 media player is working properly and that you have the latest GStreamer updates including support for MP3 (e.g. fluendo-mp3).

  • about:config: media.gstreamer.enabled = true

Many thanks for taking the time to respond, no joy yet. Tried Chrome and it will not play snippets on my machine. (mozilla plays youtube video no problem and live radio 1 feed)

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
