I downloaded 38.2.0 but it gets hung up "(Not Responding)" downloading emails in "important". Reinstalling did not fix Error message Apphang B1.

I can't use Thunderbird 38.2.0 on my PC because it continually is "not responding". Windows cannot resolve the problem. The problem code is AppHang B1. When I close the program and re-open it, I receive messages, but once it starts downloading messages in "important" it freezes up.

Is "important" a folder you created, or a gmail folder?

"Important" is an artifact of gmail, not a folder I created.

I went into Gmail settings and removed the importance markers and it solved the problem of Thunderbird getting hung up. I still don't understand why I had the issues after Monday's Thunderbird update (and not before) but at least it's working now.
