Charter Communications, my ISP, makes me a client of their email program. The email folder names I have historically used do not match theirs. If they don't match I cannot delete unwanted emails from their server through Thunderbird. I cannot delete or modify folder names on Thunderbird to match Charter's. I need to TOTALLY remove Thunderbird so I can start over with them. They are an IMAP site and will push all of the correct folder names to me. I have used the Uninstall feature of my WIN7-64 and restarted but my old names and organization reappear which blocks Charter from pushing their names. I can manage using the system register.

For a clean start, you could remove your profile.

But it should be sufficient to remove the old account from Thunderbird and add it anew. If there is currently anything in the old account that you want to save, copy it to the Local Folders account first.

Tools|Account Settings|{select account}

Down at the bottom, Account Actions|Remove Account

But I really can't believe it works as you say; we'd surely have several hundreds of reports from other charter users.
