Can I reset the new default "Return = New Paragraph" back to a simple line break (I don't want to use "Shift-Enter" because I can only use my left hand)?

Chosen solution

Allegedly, this preference:

editor.CR_creates_new_p pref

can be added to the config editor as a new boolean switch. I think you would want it set to false.

You may need to close and re-start Thunderbird to see the effect of its two states.

This option should become a visible switch in the UI (Tools|Options|Composition) in v45.

I'm pretty sure there is a configuration editor setting for this, but I need to do some research on it. Watch this space.

Hi Zenos,

I suddenly have this problem as well, and I would realy like to reset, so I'm happy to read your answer. I did find the config editor, and it is set to 'true', as you described. But I don't know how to change it to 'false'. Can you explain that? Many thanks!
