I can't update firefox beyond version 43.0.4. I've tried at least two different versions, including the current one. It installs, and then immediately goes to the crash window. I've tried installing as an administrator, no difference.

My home computer is fine on the newest version, but this is my work computer. I've installed at least two different versions newer than 43.0.4 and they just won't run at all. At best I get a window saying it failed to restore my open tabs, but within seconds that disappears and I'm left with the little crash window. Safe mode does the same thing.

The last two Crash ID's, most recent safe mode, previous not safe mode, are Crash ID: bp-18f75d98-ba6d-4aa6-ad05-edfb12160405 and Crash ID: bp-e92507c7-996c-4ea7-af63-ea5c92160405

I'm submitting this using Chrome because Firefox is broken.

However, as I have done quite a few times now, I expect it to successfully install and run from the 43.0.4 version installer.

hi, unfortunately this crash may be caused by websense endpoint security software that is running on a device. please make sure that all its components are up-to-date. in case your computer is part of a managed enterprise environment, please get in contact with your it department about this issue again. more information is available in bug 1181091.

in a larger enterprise using the extended support release (esr) version of firefox, which receives security updates but feature updates only once every 10 months, might also be a better option compatibility-wise: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/

Thanks very much. That's probably the problem - we do have Websense something or other AP-ENPOINT DLP running. I'm still baffled why it won't let newer versions run but it's ok with my running and installing, repeatedly, 43.0.4.
