I am running Thunderbird 45.1.0 with Lightning 4.7.1.

I'm not sure when this first happened, but the Synchronize, Event, Task, Edit, and Delete buttons are all grayed out. The Day, Week, and Multiweek tabs are also grayed out, so I can't change view. If I select a calendar and go to "Edit", the "Calendar Properties" entry is grayed out. If I right click on a calendar the properties option is available, but selecting it does nothing. On the same right click menu "Synchronize Calendars" is grayed out. The two arrows to the left and right of "Today" are also grayed out, so I can't change the month that I'm looking at.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I spent at least an hour trying to fix this problem, and then moved my computer from work to home. Then I ignored it for more than an hour. Now it appears to have fixed itself, and all the grayed out options are once gain available.

So I guess for now the problem is resolved, but if anyone can give me some insight into why this happened, and what could be done to fix it other than changing network and/or simply waiting for several hours, it would still be appreciated.

My guess is you restarted Thunderbird and it updated the version of Lightning you wee using.

Thanks for the reply. You are correct that I did restart Thunderbird, but that didn't seem to fix the problem. I was still at work when I did that, and the problem was unresolved when I left.

Since it's fixed, unless it happens again I guess how it got fixed is a moot point. It would just satisfy my curiosity :-)
