I cannot clear cache to zero v47
Since beta update, I can't clear cache below 1MB.
Clear cache has been problematic for too many versions to remember. It has never held this much memory. I have had to cleanly installed each FF version since at least v45, although it has probably been longer. Why am I having so many problems with installations?

Thank you.

Location of the cache files. Windows: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\ Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/ Linux: ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/
Close Firefox. Open your file browser to the above, and remove the folder.
FredMcD,
I somehow posted this question three times. Please remove the other two, unless you can tell me how to remove it. (I don't see that I can.)
My cache files are not in that location.
(I don't think that starting in Safe Mode is necessary for this kind of issue.)
Thank you.

Go to the top of any support.mozilla.org web page and press your username to see your Mozilla profile. Including your questions and answers.
After closing Firefox, remove the cache directories from all profiles. Firefox will recreate such files when needed.
The folder should be here; C:\Users\==<User Name>==\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\==<Profile Name>== Remove the cache2 folder.
FredMcD,
You are consistent. Yes, I can see that I posted this question twice, but it doesn't tell me that I have the ability to delete it. Somebody closed it,so that suffices.
It looks like my windows cache is the same folder as when I go into Troubleshooting and open my folder. At any rate, I still do not have a cache 2 folder. There is no folder called cache.
I have to re-install Windows, so maybe my next FF install will work better. Look forward to your answer, regardless.
Thank you.
Firefox would only create the cache2 folder in the main Firefox profile folder if you would choose the location yourself not in the default "AppData\Roaming" location. Otherwise the cache2 folder will always be in "AppData\Local" and has the same random name.
You can always see the location of the disk cache on the about:cache page and the current usage. You can refresh the about:cache page via F5 (reload) to see the current status.
If there is a problem with the disk cache then try to delete the cache2 folder as shown on the about:cache page. Also make sure that you do not have security or other software deal with the Firefox disk cache to prevent corruption.
FredMcD,
It fluctuates (the clear cache issue) depending on a random installation of FF after a Win installation.
I found the cache folder - as you knew that I would, but there is still no Cache2; it's caches.squlite. The disk has 64kb and the memory is slightly higher.
I'm talking about not falling below 75kb these days. As a few of us complain about it with great gusto, you would think that the good people of FF would fix this. And I have been refreshing and counting to ten since it was recommended.
I rather have control, but Microsoft doesn't like ceding that type of power either.
Thank you.
