I click the download link and get a message that the add-on is downloading and then ....... nothing. The add-on icing that is supposed to appear in the toolbar doesn't, and the download helper does not appear on my add-ons list.

Are you referring to this Extension? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/

Then this is for desktop Firefox on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

The Extensions for Android Firefox are listed in https://addons.mozilla.org/android/

There are some options, never used any to comment. https://addons.mozilla.org/android/search/?q=Video+Download+Helper&appver=&platform=

Thanks, James. That answers my question. Here is why I was confused: If I click the link you recommended for Android extensions, up comes the page "Android Add-ons" and if I type "Video Download Helper" into that pages search box, I am taken to the add-on that I now know, thanks to you, is NOT for Android. Very confusing. I'll try some of the other apps suggested there; one or more will work, no doubt.

Thanks again.
