When I try to change my homepage to google.com, and turn off the feature where Firefox tries to open to the last page viewed, it works at first. But then later on it goes back to its old settings where AVG's search page is the homepage and Firefox tries to open the last page viewed when I start it. I think that the change back only occurs when I turn the computer off and then turn it on again.

How do I prevent this from happening?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
