Firefox hasn't worked on my two computers since you upgraded it. Are you ever going to get it working again?

I'm trying to remember just the most troublesome.

It is slower than heck and performs in a real jerky way. It took me forever to get EverSync and FVD Speed Dial to work, and now I can't sync the speed dials because when I click on that tab it tells me I have to download FVD speed dial. I've already done that, already have the add on on the browser, but it won't recognize it.

Every site I try to open is a waiting game. It's worse than having a dial up connection.

This was a pretty decent browser, I thought. But that new upgrade just destroyed it.

Volunteer Support only needs to hear about the issues. uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Once back up please do this : Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

This post was helpful, but I beg your pardon regarding your opening statement: "Volunteer Support only needs to hear about the issues not personal issues."

What did you mean by that? All I gave you were the issues.

This is a personal ideal or thought : This was a pretty decent browser, I thought. But that new upgrade just destroyed it.

You could expand more on what issues are bothering you as well as to how to fix them. Would be supplied. Can not supply any information or help to that statement of personal belief.

So if you have other issues with Firefox. Please let us explore them to identify solutions to them. Regards.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

So did the provided solution Help as you never mentioned the issues you were having with Speed-dial and other extensions that were important to you to get working.

Are they now working and was the solution a fix to the issue ?

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I did tell you the issues I was having.

I found a page that included information about refreshing the browser, so I did that first, then reinstalled add-ons. I also used your tip about going to Options/General/Performance and that seemed to help some.

At this time is is working fairly well.

Great. My option of reinstall is a little less bothersome on Optimizations you might have made and clears those folders which have been used for update after update when code was Netscape, Now is pure new code. So I tend to do that when I do not think Refresh is warranted, reinstalling from the Full Version Installer helps also. The backup and export is only in case something goes wrong and then can fix that issue. This can happen in Refresh also. And it is good to have a copy of your bookmarks in HTML as I am using same ones from 95, just copied over. It is as good which ever way.

Test and let us know if need further help.

I haven't had Firefox open since I last posted here. Opened today and it took about 5 minutes for everything to load. I am now going to try your solution of uninstalling, etc., and see if that works. If not I guess I won't be able to use Firefox anymore. Will let you know how it turns out.

@Nikilet, make sure to delete the folder as well if it remains if it installs into the same folder the same problem could happen again. If you uninstall find all FF and remove them as well. Then after that install the FF that matches your O/S version.
