I want to change the web browser to google, but I go to the options bar and it does not give me the options to do that. It has Firefox as my web browser. How can I execute this change?

First type in www.google.com in your address bar and press Enter.

When google's webpage loads, go to FireFox Preferences, General, and under Home Page, click on the "Use Current Pages" button and it should set Google as your Home Page.

I'm not sure, but you may get a few things mixed up here :

Google is not a browser - it's a search engine (Google's browser is Chrome). Firefox is a browser, and I'd like to think that you want to keep using Firefox as your browser, but that you want Google to be your default
search engine ..... (?)

You can set your default search engine :

3-bar menu => Options => Search (first option in the left panel)

And under 'Default Search Engine' you can set Google as your default search engine.

I hope this is what you meant to do ......
