Hello! I'm running up-to-date Tbird on a 2014 Mac Air with the latest High Sierra update.

One of the very few advantages Mac Mail has over Tbird is an obvious way to take an account offline - you click the box that says "take account offline".  :D

I can't find the equivalent for Tbird. I tried unchecking "check for email at startup" and "check email every xx minutes". But it still keeps checking, and I have to deal with error messages bouncing in on me.

Is there something I'm missing? I did my due diligence looking through old support messages - how I found the suggestion to click the "check for email" options - but found no discussions more recent than a decade ago.

Click the double-monitor icon in the bottom left corner, in the Status Bar (View/Toolbars if it's hidden; press Alt if the Menu Bar is hidden). Or, AppMenu/Options.
