Did you do this: Update the Athena drivers for ID Protect Monitor
One person who had crash said: "I updated Athena drivers for ID Protect Monitor and now Thunderbird crashes seems are gone. ... I downloaded from the following page the Windows driver 6.44.10 (section "ACTALIS" in the drivers table) http://sistemats1.sanita.finanze.it/wps/content/portale_tessera_sanitaria/sts_sanita/home/il+cittadino+e+la+tessera/come+si+attiva+la+cns/elenco+driver+tscns "

Try updating the driver.
I updated the driver but the crash is still there. :(
Any other solution ?
Should I post the crash report after the update of the Nvidia driver ?
Do you use the 'Maildir' storage option instead of mbox files ?
No I don't use Maildir option.
I only inserted the email account (since 1 or 2 years ago) and never made any changes in the configuration of Thunderbird.
Is hardware acceleration switched on ? If yes, then switch it off and retry.
Assuming you have enough time to do this before a crash.
Try starting Thunderbird in Safe Mode.
- 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab
- uncheck checkbox: 'Use hardware acceleration when available'
- click on 'OK'
Exit Thunderbird and restart.
Can you post the following info: In Thunderbird Help > TRoubleshooting Information Do Not select checkbox to 'include account names' click on 'Copy text to clipboard'
Then in this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste'
You could remove/edit all info on fonts and printers but nothing else.
The hardware acceleration wasn't checked! Please see the image enclosed.
Please post the Troubleshooting Information.

Under 'modules' it mentions: aseVCAPI.dll aseVCAPI.dll is software for Athena Smartcard. Athena Smartcard is known to cause problems.
Please try this: Update the Athena drivers for ID Protect Monitor
If you do not use that software you could uninstall it.
I uninstalled the Athena drivers.
Then after a general restart, Thunderbird worked for about 15 minutes and then crashed again. :(

I'll come back to you with an update.
