Mail account setup problem
Hi, I have an email hosting with VentraIP for my new business email info@egrowthonline.com.au I have downloaded Thunderbird and I am in the Mail Account Set UP I entered the name that I want shown to others namely Growth & Equity and entered the email address as above together with the password that enables me to manage my VentraIP mail box and when I click continue message show "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account" If I try to set up the mail account with the user name (gmail account) and password that allows me to Login to VentraIP the message shows "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP data base" I then press DONE and that takes me to a box that eventually wants me to allow Mozilla to take over my Gmail account which I dont want. What am I doing wrong.

At the point where you see "TB failed to find...", click Manual config. and proceed following these instructions:

Hi I followed the instructions as above and received the following message"Configuration could not be verified is the user name and password wrong" The email address as per attached uses the password bob@g&e2018 however if I use the VentraIP login email of bobbiega@gmail.com with a different password then Thunderbird wants me to agree to its take over of my gmail account. To which I decline and it takes me back to where I started. Are the two different emails confusing the issue.
I lodged a help ticket with VentraIP and they came back with the following answer "It appears the password was not set correctly on the server. I have manually updated this for you and the following password should now work," Thankfully it does work finally and thank you so much for your help it is very much appreciated
Allowing Thunderbird to "manage" your account is exactly what you appear to want to do. It is not "taking over".
