Lightning no longer displayed, yet it was still in my add-ons in T-Bird. Went to get an updated version in the extensions page and was shown that the current available version was not compatible with my current version of T-Bird. Since I keep track of my important dates and functions, I just wanted to know when Lightning will be updated/compatible or if there was a way to use an older version of the program???

Hi 341JunkBand, Because Thunderbird comes comes with Lightning pre-installed, any updates to Thunderbird will also include the compatible updates to Lightning.

If your version of Lightning is not marked as compatible, could you try the solutions in the following article, and see if any of them help: Calendar updates issues with Thunderbird

I followed the instructions and I got the following response....

"This add-on is not compatible with your version of Thunderbird."

I also tried to re-install the version I have in my Computer documents file and I got a red bar across the top of my browser page saying that the version of lightning I have does not work with version 60.0 of Thunderbird. I tried to copy the warning so I could be exact in wording but to no avail. I am using T-Bird version 61.0.2 Andi

Hi Chris,

This is whacky. I followed your instructions. Seemed like I had no luck... I went to my add-ons and got rid of any extensions that had to do with lightning, calendars, or time. Then I went to the Extensions search, typed in lightning. The results still said that lightning was not compatible with my version of T-Bird. So I re-added all lightning references, just to see what would happen, then restarted T-Bird.... Guess who now has a functioning Lightning calendar!!!! Sometimes I think George Orwell and Rod Serling are in charge of the Universe! Happy Monday!!!!!
Thanks for your help!

Andi
