Disatisfied with BCC treatment in v68.7; how do I re-install v60.x?
Greetings. Something happened with the most recent Thunderbird update (68.7 Mac). I can no longer send a BCC message to members of a group. When I try to do so, I get an "Invalid Recipient Address" error message that says my BCC entry "is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail". Double clicking the group's name in my address book has always populated the BCC field with an "address" that looks like this:
- Group Name <"*Group Name">
Now, this procedure does not work properly. I have been using BCC to send messages to various groups for many years through many iterations of Thunderbird. What happened, and how do I fix it? Any suggestions? If not, please tell me how to re-install v60.x.
Many thanks and best wishes.
-Robert

Change Group Name to Group_Name:
Sorry. That does not work. Any other suggestions? Best wishes. -Robert
If the suggested workaround doesn't work for you, I suggest posting your experience in the bug report:
Found this in bug report:
Bug 1628800 - After update to TB 68.7.0, mail cannot be sent with distribution list with spaces from Contacts Sidebar - not valid email address, not in form of user@host"
Other people experienced this problem, too.
One workaround suggested was to eliminate spaces. in the list name. This works. Unfortunately, it means renaming all my lists. Oh well, better than losing them!
Best wishes.

Just wondering why when sfhowes told you to change the name using a _ to eliminate the spaces it did not work for you?
