As a new user to TB I struggle setting up my mail client on my new PC. I realize the transition from using the yahoo web mail client to using TB is not that easy. All mails are read from my yahoo web mail client but I cannot set and configure correctly the SPAM folder. SPAM on yahoo is not linked to SPAM inside TB. TB uses the folder called "Junk" instead. Yahoo does not recognize the Junk folder as the SPAM folder. Via the TB account options/settings menu I cannot find and select the appropriate folder name. Currently it is very confusing, thus using TB only a challenge. Please help me and let me know: - if there is a solution to my problem - what are the alternatives or workarounds Thank you.

Once you know Yahoo do not use the spam folder either in IMAP, but call it "Bulk mail" I think you will be able to correctly configure the same spam folders as the yahoo server uses. They call is SPAM in the web page, but not on IMAP.

I have no idea why they would do something so obtuse. But I fail to understand why Yahoo do almost everything they do.

Looks like I am stuck. My problem persists despite the comments from Matt. Is there no solution to my issue ? Is IMAP the problem ? What shall I do ? Which setting should I change ? Again, TB does not allow me to select the SPAM folder yahoo is using, which leads to having two different spam folder for both TB and Yahoo. Please help me.

You go to account settings. In Junk settings for the account you specify the folder as other and select the Bulk mail folder.

Thanks for responding. As stated earlier, I cannot see and select the Bulk mail folder using TB. Thus the reason asking to troubleshoot and to help me. What are the next steps ? What shall I do ? What is the workaround ? Re-install TB and deleting the remaining folder, all settings and profiles ?

Right click the acco0unt in the folder pane and select subscribe. If you don't have a subscribe you have the wrong type of account configured to actually link them.

Subscribe to the bulk mail folder.
