Hi, I setup an account in my local Thunderbird that used POP3 and SMTP to get and receive emails from a Rackspace email account. I had about a dozen emails in the account. The Rackspace account was just temporary for a freelance job. After the job was over, the Rackspace account was deleted by the company. A few days after, I open Thunderbird and the account within Thunderbird and all the emails are gone. Like it never even existed. Since all my emails were downloaded from the Rackspace email server to my Thunderbird, deleting the Rackspace account should have no effect on the Thunderbird account on my local computer.

I have never seen this before. I used Rackspace at my previous job in conjuction with Outlook and when I deleted an employee email account on Rackspace, all the emails still existed on their Outlook.

Has anyone ever seen this?

is your account IMAP, then they will have synchronized into oblivion. POP is not linked to the server and deletion would not occur.
