Firefox is simply not working. This error has been been there for last half hour. I tried purge-reinstalling it, restarting the PC but no use. Only thing I can do is open or close new tab or window, no searching works, not refresh button, not bookmarks, not preferences. Nothing is working. Even on-device html files are not showing.

OS: Ubuntu 18.4.5 LTS Firefox Version: 87.0 (Build: 87.0+build3-0ubuntu0.18.04.2)

Only features working:

  • Open / close new tab / window, new private tab / window
  • Zoom controls (but there's nothing to see, so I just see the numbers changing)
  • View Bookmarks (only through the library popup and the links don't open)
  • View History (only through the library popup and the links don't open)
  • Troubleshooting Information page [about:support] (I've included the data)
  • Refresh Firefox
  • Restart with Add-ons disabled / Clear startup cache (Closes firefox but idk if it actually did anything, then crashes when restarting firefox.
  • About Firefox
  • Crashes page [about:crashes] (I managed to report 2 recent crashes)

PS: I just tried reverting to only other version available on Ubuntu (59.0.2+build1-0ubuntu1) and it doesn't work either. Screenshots and Troubleshooting Info attached for this version also.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Works same as mentioned above in the question. Even with the debug mode enabled it did not print any errors.
