Firefox wont load pages, Get VCRUNTIME140_1.dll Not Found Errors
I got a new Lenovo Laptop and cant get Firefox to load a webpage. Here's what happens and what I've done 1. I install Firefox and during install get error below, VCRUNTIME140_1.dll Not Found. I then click OK and Firefox Installs but when I load it no webpages will come up just a black screen no indications it is even trying to load the page, no error message. It does nothing. Cant even open Google.com 2. I looked in MS forums and they say to install Visual C++. Did every x86 and X64 version I could find. Still have the problem even after uninstalling Firefox and reboot. 3 Have McAfee, and took Firefox off the Safe list then put it back on. 4. Went to try and find the file but can't on a reputable website. So I looked for this file on my Dell Laptop and Asus Desktop. Both have Firefox installed and it works fine. Get this, NONE of my other two computers have that exact file name anywhere. VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL! They have 140.DLL and a few other 140.dll with different variation but no 140_1.dll? So how does Firefox run on 2 other computers without this DLL but not on this new one? They are all Windows 10 Would appreciate any help. Seems to be a Firefox or Lenovo Issue just not sure. If anyone know how to get the DLL from MS let me know.

You need these two:
You may not need the latter (32-bit version) if you use 64-bit Firefox. You may have to reboot the computer.

Did you recently uninstall applications that might have caused Redistributable Packages to get removed ?
You can check for issues caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox, especially VCRUNTIME140_1.dll.
See "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019":
I have not installed any programs. This laptop is brand new! I don't understand why I need the 140_1 dll when I don't have it on 2 other computers that are Windows 10 and Firefox runs fine? I'd prefer to just download a know good copy of 140_1dll and copy it to Windows sys file but I'm not going to download it from anyone but MS and they don't have it!
Why do I buy new computers to give myself headaches!
This file is part of the Visual C++ installation that contains runtime components (Redistributable Packages) that can be used by other applications. You may have uninstalled (not installed) a Windows application recently if it worked before and that has caused these runtime component to get uninstalled as well.
You can only fix this properly by reinstalling these components to ensure that they are properly registered in the Windows registry.

Sorry but you are misunderstanding what works. I have 3 computers. Firefox has worked on 2 of them years. When I did a search on those 2 computers for the 140_1 . Dll they DO NOT exist on those 2 yet Firefox works! I was hoping to just copy the dll over to the new one. I got a new Lenovo laptop, windows 10 and this is the only computer that wants this 140_1.dll? It tells me it is missing every time I have reinstalled Firefox. Then Firefox will open but not load any webpage. No looking for or indicator that it is connected to the internet at all. I assume is from the missing dll but who knows? I have installed about 6 versions of Visual C++ on this new Lenovo and still can’t find this mysterious 140_1.dll after each install. I have uninstalled no programs on this Lenovo. I just got it. Thanks for any advice.

Thank you Thank you Thank you. the x64 worked. Firefox is now functional. Not sure why my downloads of C++ didn't do it?
