New FF update alters bookmark folder
The latest Firefox update forces my bookmarks folder to be double spaced between bookmarks and folders making it too large for my page. I have to use the navigation arrows to access all of it's folders.. and the folders inside the folders too. When I used to open bookmarks it was about half my screen high now it's a screen and a half. I've temp returned to the previous version but would like to keep updating to keep up with security patches.

Did you select compact mode via the customize page.
You can use "Density: Compact mode (not supported)" in Firefox 89+, but this mode is currently not actively supported and isn't present by default as a Density choice in Customize.

- about:config => browser.compactmode.show = true
Screenshots in Density: Normal and in Density: Compact.

Hi
I believe that this may be addressed in Firefox 93 with a slightly different, more compact format. This is still being tested, but we hope to make it available soon.
Thanks. I guess I'll have to test it first with the portable version before I install it on my HD and overwrite version 91.
You can possibly test this in the portable 93.0 Beta or DE version.
Thanks. Still happening. See image upload... note that my bookmarks are on the menu bar.

Thanks! That worked with version 93beta. Bookmarks are still a bit larger than they used to be but now I can see them all.. they take up 2/3 of a page instead of the previous 1/2 but that's ok... much better than running off the bottom of the screen.
Is there a downside to using compact mode? Why was that option hidden?

Some background on the decision to remove the Compact Mode option and then hide it behind a preference: Bug 1693028 Remove compact mode inside Density menu of customize palette
