Why I can't I see this? or where can I find it?

Various Fire Fox sources say I need to set up an Firefox Syn account and that I can make a selection to do this in Firefox preferences. However this is no option for this available. There is a single option labeled sync but it doe does not synchronize my laptop to my account and none of my bookmarks etc are up to date.

Thanks for the response but these instructions just send me over the same ground.

Perhaps I can tell you what I do know

1. I have a fire fox account on my home computer that I want to sync with my laptop.

2. I have never set up separate sync account for firefire just I fire fox account.

3. When I am told to sign up for syn they tell me to select the option of seeding up an account but this is not available on my Firefox Browser. Their is the regular sync account command in preferences but this doe not do anything.

4. Am I confused here is Syn a function of Firefox or is it a separate application? Is it possible when they ask me to set up syn they me set up a new Firefox account? If so I already have one. I want to browser items on my laptop which also uses Firefox to syn the selves to my original Firefox account.

On each Firefox profile on each computer you have that you want to sync, have them sign into the sync account you already have.

Note: The sync servers allow each e-mail address to be used on only one sync account. If you want or need to create other sync accounts, you will need to use another e-mail address.

Sync is a part of Firefox. The servers where the data is stored (Encrypted) are run by Mozilla.

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.
