Hey, so, there is an issue I've been facing. There's a site I've visited a few times on mobile and stopped using a bit ago, but the thing is no matter what I do, it keeps popping up as an autocomplete when I'm typing in the search bar. This only happens on the mobile version of Firefox, it doesn't pop up on the desktop version even though they are synced together, and no matter what I Google, it keeps showing me the instructions to delete autofill entries on the desktop browser. Literally nothing comes up for the android version, or any mobile version at all. Please help, this is exceptionally frustrating.

I would try go to add ons and disable any you have installed. delete and reinstall firefox. It could be an add on that hid something and is causing this behavior. An earlier answer it could be the keyboard. there could be multiple places that the keyboard stores memory and has a setting for that specific set of data, for example dictionary, learned words... etc. If you really suspect the keyboard I would full system restore because it's a huge headache. One thing that might work... when the auto complete dialogue pops asking you to save or edit password. delete all info out of the boxes then save it as empty boxes. it will void the entry. no more characters would be auto filled if you saved blanks. Really the first thing i would do is check your popup blocker settings. the popup blocker included with firefox. make sure they're adjusted accordingly to your needs and certain permissions haven't been enabled without your knowledge.

Hi

Is this a site you have set as a bookmark or have visited recently in Firefox for Android?

It is not a site that I have bookmarked. I think it's just one I went to frequently before, but now it won't go away.

Have you removed that site from the browsing history?

Yes, many, many times.

Okay. If you open the Android Settings app, select Applications and find Firefox, under storage clear the cache (not data!).

If this does not work, the only other place the data could be is in the keyboard app on your device. Again, open the Android Settings app, select Applications and find your keyboard app. Clearing data will reset the app to the first run experience, clearing cache will clear out some cached files.

This did not work either. When I type out the first few letters, it appears with an arrow on the right pointing down and left.

On the favicon on the left hand side if the entry, is there any small icon in the bottom right corner of the icon? Maybe a star, a small computer screen or a green tab shape?

What's a favicon?

It is a little picture that represents the website.

Oh, I see. Well, these solutions you've given me haven't worked so far, sadly.

If you open the History option from the Firefox for Android menu and use the search field at the top of the screen, do you see any references to this website?

Yup, it's there.

If you clear out those references from the browsing history, you should not see it as a search suggestion.

My history is completely empty. It should not be in there. Either way, I can't figure out a way to delete it from the history when I search. Tapping it just takes me to said site, and holding it doesn't do anything.

Just to clarify, you gave cleared your browsing history, but you are still seeing history entries when you search?

Yes, I've cleared my history, but that website is still appearing when I type the first few letters into my address bar, and it does appear when I SEARCH my history, but I can't delete it.

Reinstalling did fix it for some reason. I have no idea what the problem could have been.
