How do I create a trash folder?
I have installed Thunderbird 102.2.0 (64-bit) on a new pc, have created our 5 email accounts, both gmail and optusnet. All are separate accounts with different email addresses. I only have a trash folder on the first optus email account and first gmail account. Gmail accounts also get drafts and spam folders. Others have only inbox and sent folders, nothing else. When I try to create one nothing happens. I can't specify where deleted emails go, the only option is to inbox or sent. All the accounts previously were fine, all had an inbox, sent, drafts, deleted and spam folders. If an email was deleted by accident or I just wanted it back again at a later date all I had to do was go to the deleted folder. Question: How do I create a folder that is supposedly as simple as naming it and clicking create? I have tried several times but it doesn't work.

When you delete something a trash folder is created in pop configured accounts. For IMAP account you may need to subscribe to the folder (right click the account in the folder pane and select subscribe). Fundamentally IMAP mirrors server side folders, so you should never need to create a trash folder for an IMAP account.

Thanks. Problem solved.
