Sometimes when I do a google search all my tabs and tool bars will disappear and the page will go to a blank yahoo search page. This happens several times a day and it's very frustrating to lose all my tabs and have to close everything and start over. It seems like it's crashing however I don't get the pop up to report the crash. What's the deal with this?? Does firefox not like XP? I never had this issue with my laptop that has vista (can't use it at the moment since my daughter cracked the LCD)

Hello Christina.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment as been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at www.getfirefox.com.

As for your troubles, looks like some extension is causing trouble...

You have or had an extension installed (NET_mmhpset) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.3 to Firefox/2.0.0.11

You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. Filter: general.useragent If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

See Web sites or add-ons incorrectly report incompatible browser and Find what version of Firefox you are using See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_your_useragent_string_to_its_compiled-in_default
