I usually keep a number of news websites minimized and only restore them when I need them. Then push F5 to refresh them. But since the last Firefox upgrade when I open a new Firefox window all my minimized windows get restored all at once. I have to re-minimize them before I can start working on the current new window. How do I keep my minimized windows minimized when opening a new Firefox window. I can not find anything under tools or view drop down menus to control or any other drop down menu that allows me block this automatic restoring of minimized windows when a new window is opened. The Ask.com toolbar extension has been reported to cause this issue.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

That solved the problem. Nero CD Multimedia Deluxe writer "Extension in Firefox" is what was causing the problem.
