Each time I log into a site that requires a password, I get a drop down password reminder box. How do I get rid of this?

As I said, each time i log into a site that requires a password, I get a black drop down box that reads e.g. "Remember password for "hawkhead" on mozilla.com?" and there is a choice of: remember password, never or not now. This is extremely annoying and I would like to just get rid of the box WITHOUT pressing the "never" button.
