When I downloaded Firefox 5 I started getting this pop up which says the above.... It is not only on my FB but it pops up on my gmail and my games and my online university page and will not let me do things without clicking on it multiple times all the time because it will not stop popping up... I have had enough... I redid the upgrade... I checked all of my updates and got them done.. There has to be a fix to this... I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE BROWSERS.....

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

In Firefox 4+ you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

I did every thing you suggested and now I got rid of the error message... It was coming up from my extralinks that worked just fine in 4... Now flashplayer is gone and will not reinstall... Keeps saying it encountered an error... So I want 4 back... I am trying to find a link where I can see all the past FF so I can do this and can't find it... More frustrated now than I was... Please someone tell me how to get out of 5... This bites.... Thank you.... And cor-el,,, thank you so much for telling me about safe mode and being able to do this one at a time... That not only helped me but also my husband... :)
