Is it possible to update Firefox via the commandline with no user interaction?

All my users run as standard users on either Windows XP or Windows 7. I would like to run a batch file to update Firefox since my users can't do it themselves.

I would also like to disable automatic updates and notifications.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am sure it will be possible. Note for instance existence of these pages

Maybe you will get an answer if you try one of the Mozillazine forums. If you post back with where you find the info others may be interested.

You can update a Firefox version and don't restart automatically, but close Firefox to see which files are required and make a backup copy of them and use them to update other computers.
You need write permission to the Firefox program folder to install the update (run as Administrator).

You will find the files here:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0
(%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0
(%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
update.mar (renamed update partial/complete.mar)
update.status: pending (0x0A,Unix line ending) (in Firefox: data:text/plain,pending%0A)
update.version: xx.xx (version to update to: 7.0.1)

You can lock the update prefs to false if you want to prevent users from updating.
