FireFox gave me a popup about a week ago asking me if I wanted to upgrade to 7.0.1 on my Ubuntu 10.04 machine. I said 'Yes'.

Yesterday I decided to open a second window. (Click the '+' and it does open a new tab.) It was then I discovered right-click does not work. I also noted the menu bar (File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help) does not respond to right or left mouse clicks nor <Alt-F>, <Alt-E>, etc.
Today, using Synaptic Package Manager, I reinstalled 7.0.1. No change.

When I was typing in the reply, I hit something and it maximized the center window of Firefox. I lost everything except the center web window. I lost all menu bars, information bar, Unix bars, everything. Just the main body of the web window covering the whole screen. Not thinking, I hit Right click and it worked! I opened a new tab. That restored the tab bar. I used <Alt-Tab> to go to some other applications and got the window bar back. I then right clicked on the FireFox entry and could un-maximize. Now it all works. Now it all looks normal. What did I do?
