ok so i put together a new system and i can't get firefox to work right on it. it closes for no apparent reason without a crash message or anything. i suspect this might be an issue of incompatibility with the cpu (phenom ii x6). ie6 acted the same way until i updated it to ie8 --> problem solved. google chrome never had this problem to begin with. any suggestions?

Chosen solution

Safe mode disables hardware acceleration - Use hardware acceleration when available in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > General - as well as the installed Extensions, themes (Appearance) and Plugins in Tools > Add-ons. You can try to narrow down the real cause by starting normally and enabling the hardware acceleration setting and the add-ons one at a time.
