Tabs not saved after crash of Firefox 10.1. Worked fine until this upgrade
Before upgrading to Firefox 10.1 if Firefox crashed or was closed via task manager, the next time it opened up a session restore screen would pop up and you could restore all the tabs or select the ones you wanted to restore. After the 10.1 upgrade that screen never shows up.
Chosen solution
I like the fact that the cookies can be erased when I close FF so I went one by one on the options under the clear history when firefox closes. Turns out you can leave everything checked except for the Browsing History. That needs to be unchecked and session restore works. I would have never thought to check there without your suggestion so thank you so much!!

Hi,
You can try to manually restore the previous session after Firefox startup via History (Alt + S) > Restore Previous Session. The option to automatically restore is Show my windows and tabs from last time in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > General > When Firefox starts:.
If the problem persists, you can try to delete the sessionstore.* files in the Firefox Profile Folder. You can also open the profile folder via Firefox Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information > Open Containing Folder, and exit Firefox before deleting.
I tried your suggestion of setting the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" suggestion, it just opened up the home tabs.
I also looked in the profile folder for the "sessionstore" files and couldn't find anything named even close to that. I appreciate the quick response, any more suggestions?
Session restore may not happen after private browsing. You may also have to make sure of these correct settings.
These are the current settings: Use custom settings for history Remember my browsing history accept cookies from sites accept third-party cookies Keep until I close firefox clear history when firefox closes
I also saw that the sessionrestore.js was in another profile so I copied it over, closed the browser via task manager, opened it up and it opened up all the tabs from the other browser. Killed it again via task manager and reopened, it just opened a blank tab. It is so weird. Do you think if I blow away the profile and start from scratch it might work?
You can also try deselecting the Clear history when Firefox closes.
If there are different profiles you can try to open them all, and check if the session might be from another profile. Typing firefox -p -no-remote in the Windows Start Search box or the Run (Windows key + R) opens the Profile Manager. If the profile is corrupt you can try a new profile and copy the needed files from the other profile.
