Live.com sign-in page seems to load but body of page is blank. No place for username/password entry. Today, I cleared history + cookies, turned off flashplayer plugin and then the body of live.com signin is blank. Re-installed flashplugin. FF checked plugins and installed JAVA. Still a blank body of live.com sign-in. FF seems to work OK with other web sites. IE8 works fine with Live.com - I'm using IE8 to access my email.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I followed your directions and found an Extension "Add Lyrics 1.0" causing the problem. I disabled this extension. Now I must determine how to remove this extension.

Thanks a bunch for your prompt reply and guidance.
