Today, I checked Adobe Flash Player updates; when I saw there was a new version, I installed it. Once I checked my PLUGINS CHECK PAGE, I saw it kept saying the plugin was not updated and gave me the orange "Update" button on the right.

hello sasha_lusa, as you've noted & confirmed with adobe you're already on the latest version of the flash plugin. the mozilla plugin-check page is showing the wrong result for this combination at the moment - it's an error on the server-side that hopefully gets addressed soon. thanks

I see, now. It's not an error of mine; I thought I had done something wrong while installing Flash Player. Thank you for the help, madperson.

Yes, yesterday it was the Flash on the plugin page, today it is Java. Both yesterday and today I repeatedly downloaded over and over until I had about 10 restore points. The plugin check page has become retarded (woops, I mean "special").

A few weeks ago when 17 was released your FF destroyed all the permissions I had set for cookies...but that is another story and a different thread. ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/942274 ).

Come On! I know this is a support Forum and the people who work here volunteer and are users like myself who try and help others. Whoever is "running things" is out of my reach for "support" and comments, and you good people answer the door so this is meant for whoever "running things."

If FF doesn't get its act together it is going to continue to loose market share. Why, oh why, can't things get done right the first time. Do you know how many people are downloading Java and Flash over and over again and what a strain on resources it probably is for their servers.

I have always loved FF, been my default browser for years, but it is getting where I can't trust anything that it tells me and I have turned off updates for FF versions and after checking the plugin page and checking my versions for two days in a row I can't even trust that.

This is plain ridiculous...sorry to be upset but spending hours and hours on your browser every day or every other week makes one that way.

I feel your frustration and so sympathize. This isn't the first time my installs haven't matched Mozilla plugin page. Sometimes I feel like not updating anything and see what happens. I have a friend that does that and she hasn't had issues like I have. Good luck as well and thanks for sending me this post. Debbie

Any fix yet, I'm having the same problem on 1 desktop and 2 laptops and if everyone checked their plugins its a mess.

Hi tds777 and all--

I did manage to get it all sorted with Java 10. My final "personal" solution is at the bottom of this page: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/944191?esab=a&as=s&r=2&page=4

Good luck all!

Wow! So glad I did some type of search on this topic. I have been downloading and re-downloading the same update for about the past 2 hours. I updated all the plug-ins and each time I re-opened the browser it showed it was updated. I downloaded the update for the plugin for shockwave, but when I re-opened the firefox home page, it said an update was still needed. I was able to watch a movie I hadn't seen in awhile..but that's beside the point. It's about 2:30 am where I am..and I'm feeling pretty stupid about now. :( So, Firefox has now lost a significant amount of my respect. Not much point in talking about changing the internet and bringing people together..unless you want to bring them together in frustration and anger. :(

I don't know whats really going on but after doing a Google search and found the solution on google groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/mozilla.support.firefox/mHtGVvdB6CY

Now the current version is Java SE Runtime Environment 7u10, not the 7u9 version we are getting from java.com. You have to download from the Oracle site to get version 10, I did this and everything is OK now. Make sure you get the right version either 32bit or 64 bit. How this is occurring is beyond me the 7u9 version is really outdated, you need the 7u10 version. It is a java. com error.

I didn't really have to do nothing but download the right version from the Oracle site and install.
