After booting/restarting my mac firefox will open and is responsive but will not load my home page or any others for a few hours?

Firefox is not hanging as I can access all the items in the menu bar and change the settings as well. it just seems to need time before it can connect to my server even though Safari is working fine. Once the page loads up in firefox it works fine after.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See "Creating a profile":
