I was able to change my new tab in about:config, and now it won't change! I tried installing an add-on to reset the tabs, but that only reset Firefox! I need help on how to change it.

Hello Firefoxhelper123, see also if the browser.newtabpage.enabled preference is the default, TRUE.

the SearchReset add-on is the one you already try ? try it, if you don't already

thank you

I have hit reset before, but with no change.

I did use the search reset add-on, but it reset Firefox and not the browsing.

ideato, that didn't help, and it's still not changing. Do you know of anything else I could do?

I think something that was mentioned in the posts for adding to Firefox had fixed it, and now it's working again. Thank you for all who helped.

By the way, ideao, I did something else than what you had said, it had somehow worked out.

That's great, but what did you do, tell us, don't keep it secret !!

thanks again

I'm actually not sure what happened, but I did add two things to Firefox, DoNotTrackMe, MaskMe, and FasterFox. I'm not sure if that has to do with anything. Nothing was in the browser.newtab.url when I went there, and then it finally let me edit it.

in your system details you have, browser.newtab.url: about:home  ! ? !

When I went to browser.newtab.url, I tried to modify the new tab, and nothing would change. But maybe 5 minutes ago it started working.
