I had a Master password but all the passwords were showing on all the websites. I didn't know how to stop this problem, so I deleted the Master password and put another one on my spreadsheet to keep. However, it won't let me establish and new Master password and the pop up box doesn't ask me for one?

Can any one help me figure this out?

Please do the following:

  1. Open the Firefox options
  2. Select the Security tab

If the Use A Master Password checkbox is checked then you have an active master password.
If it is not checked then you do not have a master password active.

I only have set the Master Password & don't remember the Master Password. I don't have any other passwords set. How do I erase all passwords and start over from scratch without wiping out my Cookies? If I have to wipe everything clean how can I save a copy of my Cookies?

You can delete the signons.sqlite file and possibly the key3.db file (encryption key and master password) in the Firefox profile folder to reset all stored passwords. Future Firefox versions will use the logins.json file instead of signons.sqlite

The cookies are stored in the cookies.sqlite file.
