Cannot create site bookmark to home screen

I have a Nexus 4 running Android 4.4.2 I have Firefox for Android 28.0

I had two sites bookmarked on my home screen. These bookmarks were created from FF by tap & holding on the address bar and selecting 'Add site to home screen'.

Now the bookmarks are gone. I don't know if this is since the upgrade to 28 or because I setup FF Sync between my Nexus and my PC. Anyway my problem now is that I cannot re-create the bookmarks for my two favourite sites. They do not appear on the home screen anymore; even if I try to recreate them. I've checked everywhere, in the two folders I have on the home screen, nothing.

When I create a home screen bookmark for another site it works fine and I see the new bookmark being added on the home screen, but when I try to (re)bookmark the 2 previous sites I had, nothing shows up.

I'm not in the mood of uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Any idea ?

This was fixed in Firefox 30 which will be released on June 10, 2014 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=987722
